RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jiggly Caliente dies at 44

Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world as Jiggly Caliente, passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 44. The beloved “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum died peacefully after complications from a severe infection that led to the amputation of her right leg.

A Life of Performance and Purpose

Born in the Philippines in 1980 and raised in New York City, Jiggly Caliente rose to fame as a contestant on Season 4 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2012, later returning for “All Stars” Season 6 in 2021. Her vibrant personality and authenticity made her a fan favorite.

In 2022, she became a permanent judge on “Drag Race Philippines,” bringing her experience and passion back to her roots. Caliente also showcased her acting talents in series like “Pose,” “Search Party,” and “Saturday Night Live.”

Advocate for the Trans Community

Coming out as transgender in 2016, Caliente used her platform to advocate for trans rights and visibility. She co-hosted the talk show “Translation,” focusing on issues affecting the trans community, including discussions on sex work and societal challenges.

Following her passing, tributes poured in from fans and fellow performers. Michelle Visage, Bianca Del Rio, and Jujubee expressed their sorrow, highlighting Caliente’s impact on the drag and LGBTQ+ communities.
